A fingerprint ring carries a real print, engraved into the face of a signet. You make an ink print at home and photograph it, or upload a photo of a print you already have, and you see the exact design we engrave before you order. The Medallion, Cartouche and Crest take a fingerprint, from $69.

Questions

Do I need an ink kit?

No, you don’t need a kit. For a fingerprint, any ink pad or a washable marker works: ink a clean fingertip lightly, roll it once onto plain white paper, and photograph the print flat. A print card from a hospital, or a handwritten card, just needs a clear photo. Our photo guides show how for each kind of mark.

What if my photo isn’t good enough?

You’ll see it in the preview. It shows the lines we’ll engrave from your photo, and lines too fine to engrave show faded. If they look faint or broken, try a sharper photo in daylight. We never guess at lines that aren’t there.

Can you engrave a print a hospital or funeral director took?

Yes. Take a photo of the print card in daylight and upload it as you make your piece. The preview shows the exact design we’ll engrave, so take your time with it. You never need to post us the original.

Can I put two fingerprints on one ring?

Each ring carries one mark from a photo. For two prints, you could choose a ring each, with your print on theirs and theirs on yours, as in rings for the one you love.

Will it wear?

Engraved into the metal, not printed on it. Stainless steel won’t tarnish. Gold PVD and black wear slowly over the years, with gentle care.

What happens to my photo?

We keep your original untouched and use it to make and post your piece. We never sell it. We delete it 90 days after delivery, unless you ask us to keep it for reorders. The privacy page has the detail.
