Do fingerprint engravings wear off?

Stainless steel won’t tarnish. 18k gold PVD and black are hard coatings over steel; they wear slowly over the years, with gentle care.

On 18k gold PVD and black, the engraving cuts through the coating, so the mark shows in bright steel. On stainless steel it shows darker than the polished face.

Keeping it sharp

• Gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For a deeper clean, use warm water with a mild soap and pat dry. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, especially around the engraved areas.
• Take it off before showering, swimming, or putting on lotions and perfume. Keep polishing cloths off the engraved face.
