How we write a date
Day, month and year, each in Roman numerals, with a dot between: 28 September 2026 is XXVIII.IX.MMXXVI. A long date often fits better with the year on a line of its own.
Roman numerals have no zero, and run from I to MMMCMXCIX (3999). Larger numbers need a bar over a letter, which we don’t engrave.
In our studio, add it as words, a line each, as above. Where the whole date fits on one line, the date tool’s Roman numerals style writes it for you.
